Jim Hathaway was born in 1954, in Cooperstown New York, the fictions home of baseball. He was educated in oil painting in New York, but has lived in Japan for 16 years as a painter and teacher.
His goal for these last 16 years has been to capture Tokyo with all its energy, contrasts and contradictions. He has used white washi paper, black sumi ink, and all the tones of gray in the rainbow.
